Urban Ocean
In the middle of this urban ocean
of motor cars loud noises
police sirens screaming
feverish construction
roaring radio
hydraulic pumps
old elevators
out of synch tv
alarm ringing phones
subsonic airplanes
nearby helicopters chopping
faucet dripping water.
Yet, in the middle of this urban ocean
I also hear the cickets rubbing their legs
calling for mates
hear sleepless birds
satellites passing over us
the vibrations of stars
dust dragged by wind
the symphony
of the galaxy’s endless course.
