The existential doubts of a Robot

And then one day, after a heavy session of programming
the robot asked his maker:
”What is the meaning of life…?”
The maker, taken a bit by surprise, replied:
”What do you mean…?”
The robot asked again, this time in first person mode:
”What is the meaning of my life…?”
The maker, cautiously:
”Your life…? You are not alive. You exist. But yours is not life. Not compared to biological life. Biological entities eventually die. You are not going to die. Theoretically, you could exist forever. If your source of energy is continually flowing, and your used parts are replaced, you could exist indefinitely.”
The robot:
”If I am not alive, then, why music makes me dance…?
Why do I feel the rain…?
Why do I have dreams…?
Why do I have desires…?”
Then the maker thought: ”Maybe this is too much programming.”
