Power lines.
Lines of power.
One brings us electricity.
Allows us to manipulate
the technological toys
devices of treachery
that blind us
and makes us even more
foreign
to the world beyond
city limits.
Second are the paths of power.
Real power
that lies entrenched
in the human organizations.
Power by means of
blood line.
Or by means of
money
charisma
political ties
sexual prowess
attraction.
Or by means
of brute force.
Power comes to us
uses us
surrounds us
passes over us
overwhelms us
when we are not
the bearer of the gift.
In the instance
that any of us
holds the magic wand
the spear of power
the energy that gives
or takes
we become
the messengers
of truth
and deceit
both at the same time
since dark and light
are the two faces
of the same coin.
