After the humans
After the humans have gone
an eerie silence will take over
over land
sea and sky.
A silence
not permanent
in times broken
by the growls of the beasts
that remained
now undisturbed
running wild
in their recovered steppes
untamed.
Silence broken
by the cries of the birds
the strong blow
of immense whales
now communicating with others
of their kind
across the oceans
unblocked
free from loud booms of navy sonar
and the hum of boat diesel engines.
Silence broken
by the mating calls of all animals
rejoicing
of the dissapearance
of that hominid
the mass murderer
that for a millenia
naively thought
he would reign
unchallenged forever.
The animals
the nature all
now free of the pest
regains all.
The proud tall buildings
temples of human self devotion
now crumble
under the weight of their own
intrascendence.
